Looking for exciting things for your kids to do this summer? The Prizery is offering four weeks of summer camps for ages pre-k – 18.
The first week of camp is June 20-23. Parsons-Bruce Arts Association will present Adventures in Art for ages seven-12. Students will design their own t-shirt, work with watercolors, oils, pastels, create textured tiles out of air-dry clay and experiment with collage. Down on the Farm is for ages three-five and will use a farm theme to explore creative movement, storytelling, music, arts and crafts, and socialization skills.
Angelina Ballerina follows the book series as budding dancers ages five-nine learn ballet, storytelling, and arts and crafts. Can't decide what to choose? Arts Sampler for ages seven-12 provides a taste of music, drama, dance and art. Drawing will be offered for ages 14-18. Students will learn a variety of styles, techniques including composition, light and shadow, and perspective.
Week two of camp is June 26-30. Students six-11 can experience The Magic of Music as they sing, dance, play musical instruments, and create their own songs as they are immersed in the world of music. The ABC's of Acting for students ages nine-15 will teach audition tips, stage terminology, how to create a character, theatre games, and much more. Disney Prince and Princess allows students ages five-nine the chance to sing, act, dance, and be involved in all things Disney.
Week three is July 10-14. Pottery will be offered for ages eight-12. Students will use a variety of materials and equipment including self-drying clay, pottery wheels, glaze, and more to create pottery for both practical uses and artistic pieces.
In Create a Cartoon, students ages six-12 will experience the amazing art of cartooning. Learn to draw, create, and bring cartoon figures to life on the page.
Under the Sea takes our three-five year-olds on a journey beneath the ocean with creative movement, storytelling, drama, and arts and crafts. Brittny Charity's You Can Uke offers classes for both eight-12 and 13-18 and is a fun camp for beginner musicians to gain an introduction to music theory, learn how to play, tune, and handle the ukelele and just have a great time. Working with Colors for ages six-12 introduces very basic knowledge about how to mix primary colors and get secondary or tertiary colors in painting or art.
Week 4 will be held July 17-21. Jewelry Making for ages five-12 will work with beads, wood, leather, feathers, and other objects to create all types of jewelry and accessories. In Still Life Painting ages 11-18 will use acrylic paint and learn technicques on how to paint a set of inanimate objects such as fruit, bottles, and flowers. Let's Get Cooking for ages nine-13 will teach basic skills such as meausring, preparing and cooking a variety of foods. Also learn about kitchen safety and nutrition and have fun eating what you prepare. Landscape Painting for ages 11-18 uses acrylics to paint natural scenery including trees, rivers, mountains, and farms.
Backstage Bootcamp for ages 11-18 is for students who want to learn what goes on backstage in the theatre. How to work lights, sound, build and paint sets, costumes, running crew, and props. This group will serve as the crew for the production of 101 Dalmations Kids.
If you want to be a performer – then production camp is for you. This two week full day experience takes you through all stages of production including auditions, staging, music, dance, and learning lines and will end with a public performance on July 21 at 7 pm.
We have a wonderful line-up of talented instructors including Becky Donner, Joshua Jannotta, Kristen Lowery, Keith Washo, Catherine White, Sarah Brogden, Tracey Teagen, Ron Miller, Penny Wang, Brittny Charity, Scott Chapman, Jessi King, and more.
There will be a 15 minute performance or student showcase on the last day of each camp.
